Amiblu Branch In Trollenhagen Ceases Production – Strategic Realignment With A Focus On European Site Consolidation
This measure is part of a strategic consolidation and optimization of the European manufacturing structure, which became necessary to secure the company’s long-term competitiveness and adapt its corporate strategy to current market developments.
A thorough market analysis by the Austrian holding company revealed that Amiblu’s growth potential in Europe is limited. The restructuring therefore envisages maintaining only one production site in each European country where Amiblu operates.
To increase operational efficiency and optimize resource utilization in Germany, the partial closure in Trollenhagen is scheduled to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2026 at the latest. Administrative staff will not be affected. The second German production site in Döbeln will remain unaffected.
On November 5th, constructive discussions began with the works council, aiming to develop joint solutions for the approximately 90 affected employees at the Trollenhagen site and to mitigate any economic disadvantages as much as possible.
“This decision is difficult for us, but within our European network, we are now directly compelled to react to changing market conditions,” explains Mario Frieben, Managing Director of Amiblu Germany.
“Amiblu naturally remains committed to its responsibility as a strong economic partner in Europe, but must increasingly consider the growing competition from non-European countries with lower labor costs and significantly less regulation in order to remain competitive overall. We are grateful to our employees in Trollenhagen for their many years of dedication and are in close communication with the works council to manage the impact of this measure responsibly and with careful consideration,” said Frieben.
There will be no changes for Amiblu’s customers: product quality, capacity, and delivery reliability remain fully guaranteed and continue to reflect the high standards of the Amiblu Group.
