Russia to test launch seven intercontinental ballistic missiles in 2024

[ad_1]

MOSCOW: Russia plans to test launch seven intercontinental ballistic missiles in 2024, Sergei Karakayev, the commander of Russia’s Strategic Missile Forces has said, the Interfax news agency reported on Saturday.
Russia gave the United States at least 24 hours’ notice of such launches and Washington afforded Moscow the same courtesy, Interfax cited Karakayev as telling Russia’s army’s official Red Star newspaper.
Earlier, the Russian military reported a successful test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, in November, which is designed to carry nuclear warheads from a new nuclear submarine.
In a statement, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the Emperor Alexander III strategic missile cruiser fired the Bulava missile from an underwater position in Russia’s northern White Sea, and hit a target in the far-eastern region of Kamchatka. It wasn’t immediately clear from the statement when the test launch occurred.
Russia and the United States possess the world’s biggest nuclear arsenals.
