In a startling revelation, a Republican-led House committee engaged in the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden disclosed on Tuesday that, for nearly a decade, the President had utilized multiple email aliases to communicate extensively with his son Hunter‘s former business partner, reported New York Post.
The House Ways and Means Committee obtained an 11-page log of emails, allegedly sent and received by Joe Bidenbetween 2010 and 2019, through metadata provided by IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler. The committee claims that during this nine-year span,President Biden employed pseudonyms such as “robinware456,” “JRBware,” and “RobertLPeters” while corresponding with various individuals, including his son, other family members, White House officials, and Hunter’s former business partner, Eric Schwerin.
The committee asserts that a total of 327 emails were exchanged between President Biden and Schwerin, with 54 being exclusively between the two. Moreover, 38 emails were reportedly sent from the White House to a private email account linked to President Biden, with Hunter included in the communication.
House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-Mo.) emphasized that several emails coincided with Vice President Biden’s trips to Ukraine, during the period when Hunter served on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma. Smith suggested that the evidence indicates President Biden used official trips to advance Hunter’s business interests.
The committee’s findings also spotlight a notable increase in email exchanges between President Biden and Schwerin following a June 2014 visit to Ukraine. The report alleges that, before the trip, only five emails were exchanged, but the number surged to 27 after President Biden’s return.
The disclosure echoes President Biden’s 2018 claim to the Council on Foreign Relations, where he boasted about threatening to withhold $1 billion in foreign aid for Ukraine unless then Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin was fired during a December 2015 visit to Kyiv. The FBI whistleblower alleges that this move was aimed at halting Shokin’s investigation into Burisma, while President Biden maintains it was due to corruption concerns.
Although the committee did not release the email contents, they contend that the data supports previous testimony from IRS whistleblowers, suggesting that Hunter and Schwerin had substantial access to President Biden while negotiating foreign business deals during his time in public office.
This revelation comes on the heels of the National Archives and Records Administration’s acknowledgment of possessing up to 82,000 pages of emails, records, and documents potentially showing President Biden using pseudonyms during his vice presidency, including accounts named Robin Ware, Robert L. Peters, and JRB Ware. The committee report does not specify the topics covered in most emails or identify other recipients.
